How to use the Egg Production Tracker

Egg counts scribbled on feed bags get lost; a proper daily record shows laying percentage, the single number that judges a layer flock. This daily egg production record tracker is a simple browser tally: tap + for each egg collected and the count builds through the day. Reset each morning and log the total in a notebook. Divide by your hen count and multiply by 100 — anything consistently below 80% in peak lay deserves investigation into feed, light or disease.

  1. Open the tracker each morning and press Reset to start at zero.
  2. Tap the + button once for every egg you collect.
  3. If you miscount, use the − button to correct.
  4. At day end, note the total and divide by hens × 100 for laying percentage.

Formula

Laying % = (eggs collected ÷ number of hens) × 100. A healthy layer flock in peak production scores 85–95%.

Worked example

You collect 86 eggs from 100 hens: the tracker shows 86, and laying percentage = 86 ÷ 100 × 100 = 86% — a healthy flock. A slide to 70% over a week signals a feed or health problem. Record the count at the same time daily so the figures stay comparable.

Frequently asked questions

85–95% at peak lay for commercial layers; it naturally declines as the flock ages.

The tally resets when you leave or refresh — note the daily total in a register each evening.
